Dios Es Amor Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to invest in working capital and stock her business by purchasing "cosa de horno" baked goods.

Dios Es Amor Group's story

The "Dios es Amor" communal bank is made up of 10 members who are mothers and fathers responsible for their family. They are originally from Malpaisillo, located in the western part of the country. They are hard-working, responsible people wishing to succeed. Due to lack of financial resources, they were unfortunately unable to study for a career, and were required to start working at an early age. Today they strive for decent work, and to offer their children better living conditions. Maria is the coordinator, thanks to her effort and desire to get ahead. Her business is selling "cosa de horno" baked goods, both as street vendor and from her home. Maria's work routine is offering her goods for sale some 12 hours per day. She covers the different towns locally, and twice a week she goes out to the cities of Leon, taking the early morning bus, carrying 30 kgs of goods to sell to her steady and potential clients. The "Dios es Amor" communal bank is grateful for the support that the lenders at Kiva offer to people of low economic resources and from poor countries, such as Nicaragua, to make a decent living.
