A loan helped to develop her beekeeping business.

Eva Juana's story

Eva is a 30-year-old woman who is single and has no children. She collects fabrics scraps that can be reused for stuffing mattresses. Her second business involves beekeeping.

Eva is a humble unassuming individual who is also friendly, cheerful, responsible, enterprising, and hardworking. She carries out her work in the July 16th District of the city of El Alto, which is located in western Bolivia and situated 4,000 meters above sea level. This place moves according to the rhythm of the food markets, the handmade clothing artisans, the used clothing sellers, and other establishments. The local climate is cold throughout the year since it does not get any higher than 16 degrees centigrade during the summer. Temperatures below freezing are common during the winter since strong winds blow from the highlands.

Eva has tan skin, long black hair, and is of medium height. Her second business involves beekeeping and she has three years of experience with raising bees with the intention of collecting honey, pollen, propolis, royal jelly, and other products. Eva wants to expand her business so that she can accomplish her goal of purchasing a plot of land in the town of Caranavi, which is 150 kilometers from the city of La Paz in the sector known as Faja De Yungas – Corillera Oriental de Los Andes. The weather in that area is humid and has a temperature that fluctuates between 20 and 32 degrees centigrade. This is where she hopes to set up hives with swarms of bees.

For this reason, Eva is requesting a loan so that she can develop her beekeeping business and accomplish the goals she has planned.
