Israelita Group's story

The solidarity group “Israelita” consists of five people, men and women, who all work hard and have an entrepreneurial spirit. The coordinator of the group is Marlon, who is 37 years old and in a common law marriage. He started selling meat one year ago. Before that he worked as a security guard and he invested his severance pay into the purchase of meat. He asks for a loan to buy merchandise like round steak, loin, trim, bone and high rib, etc. The second member of the group is Maria Luisa, 46 years old, who has worked selling clothes and electrical items for four years. The third member is Esmeralda, 40 years old, who sells tortillas and atolillos (custards) in the streets of the neighborhood. The fourth member is Milena, 43 years old, who has sold fruits for nine years, and the fifth member is the youngest one, 24 years old, and he has worked selling bananas in the municipality of Tipitapa for four years.
