Jane's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to buy organic manure and pesticides.
Jane is a 45-year-old divorcee and the mother of 3 children, all attending different schools. She has been a farmer since 2004 because farming required less capital and it was her area of expertise. Jane grows matooke (cooking banana) and coffee for sale and home consumption. She works 6 days a week and 8 hours per day. She normally sells her products to traders from Kampala and neighboring trading centers. Jane also owns a retail business in a trading center to gain additional income to support her family. Jane hopes to use this loan to buy fertilizers and pesticide for her banana plantations. Her hope and dream is to expand her business so that she can be able to yield bananas in larger quantities. However, she faces challenges of lack of enough capital and price fluctuations, which affect her output and profits. Jane is described as an honest and hardworking woman in business.
