Olivia's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to pay for inventory, patterns, samples, and website start-up costs.
The warmth and joy radiating from Olivia every time she talks about her business is undeniable. A fashionista from the day she was born, Olivia spent her early years altering and mending clothes for herself and her six siblings. Later in life, her love for fashion brought her to a major upscale clothing boutique, where Olivia climbed the ranks to store manager. It was while she was working in the fashion industry that Olivia had the epiphany that started her on the path to entrepreneurship: there are plenty of places to get inexpensive and practical clothes for kids. There are also places to get fashionable clothes for kids, though they are often flimsy and impractical. But there just isn’t anywhere to get fashionable clothes for kids that are well-wrought and practical. This great idea marked the beginning of a lot of hard work and struggle to turn an idea into a business. Between securing funding, dealing with manufacturing and logistics, and designing an entire line of children’s clothing from scratch, Olivia has had no trouble keeping busy recently. With the help of her head designer, who she met back when she was managing the upscale boutique, Olivia has her eyes set on creating the next great fashion empire. She will use her Kiva loan to pay for patterns and samples, inventory, and costs associated with creating a new website. This is a unique opportunity for Kiva donors to say they helped make America’s next great brand a reality.
