A loan helped to buy garden tools and make a small greenhouse for his trees.

Zahir's story

Zahir is a 30-year-old single man. He is a refugee and lives in an IDP (Internally Displaced Person) settlement. He is a farmer, and has been raising fruit trees and selling fruits at a local bazaar for nine years almost. His monthly income is 230 AZN (Azerbaijani new manat), and this is not enough for him to make his hard life better. That’s why he works additionally as a laborer when he has time. Fresh fruits are very useful for people’s health because they include lots of vitamins. People know this and buy fruits more often than other foods and products. They prepare different sweets, jams, etc. The condition of Zahir’s garden is very bad. Because of the rainy climate in that region, his harvest dies, and he can’t sell enough fruits to cover his demands. He applied for a 1,200 AZN loan in order to buy garden tools and make a small greenhouse for his trees.
