Asma's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support
A loan helped to purchase agricultural supplies, such as fertilizers and seeds, for cultivating ladies finger.
Asma, a very energetic woman of 43 years, hails from a remote village, Khalaigram, in Dhupguri. She lives with her husband, Rahidul, and two sons. Asma is illiterate and just able to sign her name only. Her husband attended school up to grade five. Asma's husband is engaged in cultivation of land, while Asma helps him in his work after managing her household work. Her husband works hard in his field from dawn to dusk. He mainly grows vegetables, such as potatoes, gourds, beans and other seasonal vegetables. His simple and polite behavior, as well as good-quality products, has acquired a good many customers, and he wants to satisfy them by supplying more quality products. Now, he wants to cultivate ladies finger (okra) on his land, as it is the best season to cultivate this crop. But due to insufficient capital, he cannot materialize his plan. That is why, to help her husband, Asma is requesting financial help. The loan she is requesting from BJS (Kiva’s partner) is to buy farm supplies, such as seeds, fertilizers and other necessary agricultural inputs, so that she can continue with her new vegetable cultivation activity and enjoy a better quality of life with her husband and sons. She aspires to build a concrete house for them with the profit generated from this business. She is very much thankful to her lenders for the financial help.
