Benkadi C Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay for plowing, farm inputs, and seeds.

Benkadi C Group's story

The ten members of the group BENKADI C are married women, who average 41 years of age and three children each, all living in polygamous families in KOMO, a village in TIELE (2nd administrative region of the Republic of Mali.) The women are collaborating with the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso to carry out their farm work during the rainy season. They are on their sixth loan with the institution. The crops grown are peanuts and millet, as is the case with AMI (second person standing at the left in the photo). With her loan, she intends to purchase farm inputs and seeds and to cover the cost of plowing for maintaining 2 hectares. After the harvest, the produce is sold to a customer base composed of retailers and consumers in TIELE. She plans on making an average profit of 195,000 francs CFA per planting. This profit will enable her to pay back her loan and also to help out her husband in covering day-to-day expenses.
