No Life Group's story
Pictured here are members of the “No Life” group from Accra-Chorkor, Ghana. They are small businesswomen who have come to ID Ghana, a partner of Kiva, in order to apply for a loan of GHS 4,300 for each in the group. With this loan, they will be able to add more goods to their respective businesses, attract more customers, make more sales and profit and, consequently, improve their living conditions. Lydia is the featured borrower of this group of businesswomen. She is married and has two children. Her husband is a butcher, and her children are attending school. Lydia has been selling cooking utensils, kenkey (cooked corn paste) and fish for over 15 years now. With her share of this loan, she will buy cooking utensils, corn and fish to prepare kenkey and sell to customers.
