Coumbel's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to stock up on 12 cartons of hair extensions (artificial hair) and several dozen jars of beauty cream and bottles of cologne.
Coumbel's Group's story
Created in January 1998 at the inauguration of the "banc villageois", this group is one of the oldest in the program and the majority of its members have a deep understanding of the system. They have always been very dynamic, their solidarity reinforced every day since they live in the same neighborhood. Their primary activity is small-scale commerce. Standing on the far right with her left hand raised, Madame Coumbel is the featured borrower of the group. Single, she is 35 years old and is raising her three sons. She runs a shop selling cosmetics and beauty products. She buys her merchandise mostly in the capital in big markets from wholesalers and resells it in her shop. She is quite familiar with all the different products that are in vogue with her clientele. With her new loan she is going to stock up on 12 boxes of extensions (artificial hair) and several dozen bottles of beauty cream and cologne, which is frequently used during the summer season. With the profit she will make from her activity, she intends to support her sons' schooling and improve the living standard of the family a bit.
