Madiene's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase at least five crates of Moroccan oranges and boxes of pears and apples, which will be resold individually or by the kilo.

Madiene's Group's story

Created on 10th December 2012, this banc villageois is made up of women who want their money-generating businesses to prosper. A strong spirit of cooperation exists between the members of this group. They have just started their fourth loan cycle with the banc villageois lending scheme. They all live within the same neighbourhood and principally work in retail and transforming local produce. Madiène, the woman sat on the far right with her hand raised, is the group's star lender. She is 38 years old, divorced, and a mother to three children, one boy and two girls. She sells fruit in her local area. She works near the central market and gets her supplies from a wholesaler. She has been doing this for many years and has a lot of experience in this business. With this new loan, she plans on purchasing at least five crates of Moroccan oranges and boxes of pears and apples, which will be resold individually or by the kilo. The profits will allow her to better support her children with their school fees and to pay for sanitary living conditions. Some of the profits will also go into her savings.
