Dipa Shg Group's story
Dipa Self Help Group has 11 members who are all from the same neighborhood. The lady standing third from left wearing a white-blue sari in the photo is Jahnabi, an active member of the group. Jahnabi is a 44-year-old widow from a small village in the Kalahandi district of Odisha, India. Jahnabi has three children who are schooling. Jahnabi lives with her children and takes care of all the household expenses. For past 10 years, she has been involved in growing and selling vegetables. Her children help her in this activity. All other members of this group are engaged in other kinds of activities like agriculture, cattle farming, etc. In order to strengthen the business and respond to customer demands, Jahnabi, together with her group Dipa Self Help Group, has requested a loan of 165,000 INR. Jahnabi will use her portion for purchasing seeds, fertilizers and pesticides. Their common goal is to expand their business activity.
