Las Siempre Amigas Group's story

The communal bank “Las Siempre Amigas” [Friends Forever] will start its first cycle with Pro Mujer, as part of the regional office of Achachi. It is comprised of eight members and directed by a board where Janneth is the president. The members have different businesses: blankets sales, milk and pork sales, transport services, a bakery and fruits sales. This loan will help micro entrepreneurs such as Janneth. She says that this is the first time she works with Pro Mujer. She was invited to join by a friend who was already a client. She currently works weaving blankets. She says that she started this business two years ago when she learned how to weave and decided to start making money with that knowledge. She is requesting a loan to buy wholesale wool from the wholesalers at the city of El Alto. She will make the blankets and sell them in her stall. With this activity, she receives an income that helps her to support her family. She lives in a common-law marriage and has a son. When asked what she likes the most about Pro Mujer, she says that she likes the life insurance policy offered by the institution.
