but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy nine bags of shea nuts for processing into shea butter.

Daliribindenpora - Demonaayili Group's story

Balchisu is a 35-year-old, married woman living with her husband and five children in Bimonayili, a community in Northern Ghana. Balchisu is the third person in the front row with her hands on the shea nuts from the left in the group photo. Their group is called Daliribindenpora - Demonaayili. All the members of the group are involved in the business of picking and processing shea nuts into shea butter. They have been in the business for the past fifteen years. They process high premium shea butter, which is partially sold to aggregators and exported to the European and US markets. Balchisu also sells the butter to customers in Ghana. The group is therefore requesting a loan of GHS 7,900 and Balchisu would use her potion of the loan to buy nine bags of shea nuts for processing into shea butter. Balchisu hopes to increase her income so as to support her family to have regular food to eat, buy educational materials for her children and repay this loan.
