Sugran's Group's story

Sugran baji is a wife of M. and lives in Arifwala, Pakistan. She owns a two-room brick house and has been living in it for the past 4 years. She has no children. Sugran baji’s husband is a tailor who has been sewing clothes for the past 10 years. Sugran baji herself is a housewife and prefers to do household work. She is applying for a loan to buy another sewing machine to expand her husband’s business.

She is joined in her loan group by a few more members. Sakina baji wants a loan to buy chickens in order to sell chicken meat. Sumera baji wants a loan to buy fruits for her fruit-selling business. Zareena baji wants a loan to buy groceries for her grocery shop.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.
