Nadiegueton C Group's story

The members of Nadiegueton C Group are married men who, on average, are 45 years old, have five children, and all live in traditional families in Flazambougou, a village in Sikasso, Mali's third administrative region. These men work with microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso in order to successfully complete their farming during the rainy season. The crop being grown is corn, by Diakalia, seated in the photo; with his loan, he plans to purchase farm inputs and seeds, and to pay the labor costs to maintain one hectare. The crop [will be] sold in the village and in the Sikasso markets after the harvest, to a group of customers, mainly retailers coming from the large towns. Diakalia expects to see an average profit of 200,000 CFA francs per crop. This profit will allow him to [re]pay his loan and also help his large family with the day-to-day expenses.
