Isaac Manuel's story
Isaac is a young man. At 23 years old, he is single and has one son. Isaac lives with his family in Quiché. Isaac makes a living producing canvas trousers. He does this work just 300 metres from his house. He has been doing this work for ten years. Isaac does this work because he has realised that it is profitable. The income from this work covers the costs of looking after his beautiful family. Isaac tells us that he has a very close-knit family because his partner also brings in an income from producing and selling traditional clothes. Isaac is applying for a loan of 7000 Qetzal in order to buy basic supplies (material, threads and a sewing machine) for making trousers. Isaac's biggest dream is to have his own, large premises in order to improve production and sales, and to increase profits.
