Mamafina's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a 50-kg bag of sugar, a box of green tea and four pails of peanut paste.

Mamafina's Group's story

This group was created on December 24, 2003 at the inauguration of the Banc villageois. The women in this group have acquired plenty of experience in this program after 16 loan cycles, that is, about eight years of working together. The group members live in the same village and help out each other in a team spirit They are very active working as vendors and growing rainfed produce. Mrs. Mamafina (the one seated on the right raising her hand) is a star borrower of the group. She is 30 years old, married and has five children: three daughters and two sons. She sells basic food items: green tea, granulated sugar, peanut paste, etc. She stocks up at the weekly market in her region and resells retail in her village. She plans to use this new loan to buy a 50-kg bag [110 lbs] of sugar, a box of green tea and four pails of peanut paste.
