La Puissance 2 (1) Group's story
Josiane is a young mother of two living in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo. In order to create a better life for herself and her family, for the last three years Josiane has run a small drinks business in one of Brazzaville's largest markets. As a member of the community bank group LA PUISSANCE 2 (1), Josiane would like to take out a loan of 400,000 CFA to invest in her business. With this loan, she would purchase additional boxes of juice, sodas and imported beverages to sell. Josiane is on her fifth loan cycle with HOPE Congo and helps lead a subgroup of 11 micro-entrepreneurs in Brazzaville. In the future Josiane hopes to open her own shop selling drinks, and also expand to food items. One day she even hopes to buy her own piece of land and build a house for her family to live in.
