Bookku Khoole 2 Group's story

Bookku Khoole is a name that means 'with one heart', this demonstrates the strength of the union of the group members. The five women members have all been working in retail for many years. Their president is Ndèye Ndiémé (seen in the photo wearing a white robe, and standing second from the left), and she has been selling various food products, such as baobab fruit, hibiscus flower (known as oseille) and anything else that is likely to generate a profit, for more than ten years. She started her business with funds that she provided herself. Ndèye Ndiémé is married and has a large family. She helps her husband to provide for the expenses of their household. Her ambition is to help her eldest children to establish businesses for themselves and become independent. She would also like to help out more with the day-to-day expenses of her household as both she and her husband are advancing in age.
