Carmen's story

Carmen is 58 years old. She didn’t have access to a formal education, but she did learn to read and write. She lives in a community in the northern part of Nicaragua. She works in coffee production, which is her main source of income. For this woman, her challenge has always been to increase the yield of her farm. This year, she is asking for a loan that will allow her to improve the quantity and quality of her harvest through the purchase and timely application of fertilizers and the like. Her happy and enthusiastic personality is something that really characterizes this entrepreneur, and it is reflected in the work that she does on her small farm. Her dream is that her farm would be considered to be a model of coffee production with a good, high-quality yield. Because of that, she works hard every day, sure that this line of work has great economic potential.
