Irene's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support
A loan helped to maintain her coffee plantation.
Irene is 38 years old and has been producing coffee in a northern community of Nicaragua for more than 15 years. She lives with her husband and their two children on the plantatation. Her children are 13 and 15 years old and study in the local school. She manages her small plantation under certification of Fair Trade, UTZ, and C.A.F.E. practices, which demonstrates the entrepreneurial and social spirit of her family. In the past three years her coffee production has increased 30%. She is confident she can improve even more if she receives a loan to buy materials and supplies needed for planting the 2.6 acres of coffee. Her greatest wish for the future is to produce higher quality coffee with a higher yield, and pass on to her children not only their education, but the love of work, which is sure to be achieved thanks to her innovative spirit.
