Matunda Grp Group's story

Lameck is a married man and aged in his early forties. He is the father of five children and taking care of another four kids, all of whom are in school. Despite being in school, some of them are grown and taking care of themselves. Lameck is a business man who has been managing three enterprises: fruit selling, transportation and a general store. He has been managing these businesses for 20 years now. Lameck employs business helpers and his business goes from 7:15 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each working day. With this working time range, Lameck is able to make a fair monthly profit. From Tujijenge Tanzania, this is his sixth loan request which he will use to replenish his stock of fruits and popular products for his shop. With his previous loans, all of which he paid back successfully, he used them to make his business grow by purchasing more fruits, bought a motorbike for transportation and shop stock. He is doing great and is thankful to Kiva who has supported his group. He used the increased income to cover school fees and home food expenses. He dreams of opening a wholesale shop. He will share this loan with his loan group "MATUNDA," which totals five members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
