A loan helped buy more pharmaceuticals.

Simon's story

Simon is 40 years old and lives in the town of Pallisa in the Male region of Uganda. He is married and has five children who are all currently in school. For the past 14 years, Simon has been working hard to manage his pharmaceutical shop and clinic. To help expand his business, Simon has requested a loan of 2500000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more drugs, and will help Simon generate greater profits and business expansion. Simon hopes that in the future he will be able to buy more equipment and create a hospital. Simon is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Simon who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
