Zhyldyz's story

Zhyldyz is 37 years old, a widow, and has two children of school age. The children help their mother actively with the household. Zhyldyz has higher education. As a main source of income for her family, she works with livestock breeding, after having started in 2000 with 40,000 som (KGS). Thanks to the purposefulness and hard work of Zhyldyz, she currently has two dairy cows and ten sheep. She also has 2.80 hectares of land on which she every year grows potatoes, field crops and sainfoin. In addition, Zhyldyz sells milk, agricultural products and meat. Zhyldyz also harvests and sells seasonal fruit and vegetables. The total monthly income is around 10,000 som (KGS). With an aim to further develop her farm, Zhyldyz turned to the bank "Bai Tushum" for a loan in the amount of 135,000 som (KGS) to purchase purebread daily cows. Zhyldyz intends to increase the number of livestock which will lead to an increase in the family's capital. Zhyldyz plans to invest the income from the loan in purchasing an apartment.
