Roda's story

HELLO WORLD! Meet Roda, 69, a hardworking entrepreneur running a mixed farming business on her five-acre piece of land in the North Rift Valley region of Eldoret, home to some of the world's finest marathon runners. After her husband passed on, she really values visits from her independent daughter who is the apple of Roda's eye.

Roda enjoys the beauty and health of her environmental surroundings as much as she does about raising dairy cows. She is constantly planting trees and cultivates a wide variety of flowers. When you visit her farm, you will notice various works of art within and around her home.

This will be Roda's fourth loan from Juhudi! She has always repaid on time. Roda gets by selling the milk her cattle produce. She is deeply passionate about dairy farming, and is so appreciative of the microfinance that helped her first empower herself to become an entrepreneur that she named her cows Juhudi and Juhudi Kilimo. Recently, however, one of the cows accidentally stepped into a pit and injured her leg while being led to pasture. Roda is devastated but remains optimistic and is hopeful that Juhudi will walk again soon.

Today, Roda is now in need of two additional cows to maximize use of her pasture. In the past, she has successfully serviced Juhudi Kilimo loans on time and is now requesting a new loan.

With your loan, Roda will sustain and improve her agricultural business activities. With the increased income, she dreams of saving enough to provide a secure future for her grandchildren.
