Emmanuel Group's story

These members are part of the group called "Emmanuel", who reside in the same neighborhood. They are into the sale of silver products, jeans, eggs, firewood, fruits, cooking oil and canned fish. The group's representative, Mabel, is 43 years old and has had little schooling. She is married to a mason named Etse. She lives together with her husband and children. The couple have four children, all in school and in their care. The couple jointly ensures that the diverse family expenses are covered. To do so, Mabel has been selling fruits by hawking, or through the distribution system. She gets her supplies from a market in Ghana. This is the second time that Mabel and the members of her group have requested financial support from ID-Ghana, with the goal of bolstering their businesses and better coping with customer demands. The previous loan was indeed repaid without trouble. They will need a total amount of GHS 5,200 to expand their businesses.
