Los Intocables Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to replace her old sewing machine, in order to one day have her own workshop.
Los Intocables Group's story
Rio Verde is a vulnerable community in the province of Esmeraldas. Its inhabitants mainly work in livestock farming and fishing. Ana lives here with her three children and her husband. Since she was very young, she has worked making clothing and school uniforms. For several years she has worked with her old sewing machine. Her greatest aspiration is to have her own workshop, equipped with industrial machines, hire several people and also make sports uniforms. Ana has improvised a small space in her living room for her sewing workshop. She learned the skill from her mother who was a seamstress. Ana's husband doesn't have a stable job and often helps in the workshop. Their children usually attend school, even though the school is quite a long way from their community. With this loan, she'll buy an industrial machine and fabrics so that she can do more work. She plans to provide a tailoring service for the girls of the area where she lives. She wants to support her children in their studies until they are professionals. She is sure that her business will thrive and that she will have a larger workshop in the future. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The group "Los Intocables" consists of 4 women and 3 men engaged in different activities. In the photograph, their leader is raising her hand.
