Silethiwe's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to purchase more broiler chicks and chick feed.
Silethiwe is a 29-year-old businesswoman from Mwenezi District, Zimbabwe. As a divorced mother of three children, Silethiwe works hard to provide for her family and give back to her community. Over the last year, she has grown her poultry business to its current capacity – producing about 180 broiler birds every six weeks and selling them to the local residents. She started the business last year because she wanted to be financially independent and saw that the poultry industry was profitable in her community. Silethiwe would very much like to increase her sales and become a supplier to major supermarkets. In order to accomplish this goal, she will use the Kiva loan to purchase more broiler chicks and chick feed to increase production. This will enable Silethiwe to provide an education for her three children, remain financially independent, help those in need, and employ others. To give back to her community, Silethiwe is a Camfed Learner Guide who volunteers her time teaching local students valuable life skills.
