Mariam's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to purchase two cows.
Mariam lives with her husband, son, and his family. Her son has three children and is a constructor by profession. Mariam's husband and son used to migrate and work in a neighboring country, but now they try to work locally. Mariam has been running her farm for five years. She keeps two cows, 10 sheep, and 10 chickens. Mariam also cultivates potatoes for family use only. Mariam requested a loan for $1,500, which she will use to enlarge her livestock by purchasing two cows. She has taken a loan from a local financial institution before, but because of very difficult financial conditions, she was not able to pay it back on time. Now, by ensuring that her farm is successful and she is able to provide monthly payments for this loan, Mariam has been approved for this loan within the framework of a new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF International. The second-chance loan program provides loans to people who have a bad credit history and have no access to credit products.
