Armenuhi's story

Armenuhi is a farmer from Hartashen village of Syunik region. She lives together with her husband. Armenuhi is used to be engaged in agriculture and she grows barley and grass. Armenuhi keeps livestock which includes cows, pigs and piglets. Armenuhi's husband sells the harvest and dairy products through the re-sellers or in the wholesale market. The loan that Armenuhi has requested will be a huge support for the development of their farm. She asks this loan of USD 3,000 to be able to increase their livestock by four calves and 10 colonies of bees. Armenuhi has taken a loan from local financial institutions before, but because of very difficult financial conditions, wasn't able to pay it back on time. Now, by ensuring that her farming business is successful and she is able to provide monthly payments for this loan, Armenuhi has been approved for this loan. She has now been approved for a loan within the framework of a new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF international. The second chance loan program provides loans to people who have a bad credit history and have no access to credit products.
