Karine's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay for tires and truck restoration.

Karine's story

Karine has been involved in retail for 10 years with her husband. Their son is a policeman working at the regional police station.

Karine currently sells potatoes. Using their own truck, they take the harvest to nearby communities to sell. The business is small but profitable and it provides Karine and her husband with a sustainable income.

Now, she has applied for this loan to renovate their truck, which is too old and damaged. Karine has been approved for a loan within the framework of a new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF International. The start-up loan program provides business start-up loans with soft conditions to informal businesses that do not have access to credit products.
