Sire's Group's story
This group was created on December 2, 2002, on the same day the village's lending group was inaugurated. It is made up of women who are very dedicated to the value of work. They benefit from a very good experience in the lending group system. They are all from the same village. Their main activity is retail; they also grow crops in the rainy season. Mrs. Siré (standing to the right with her right hand raised) is the group's star borrower. She is 50 years old and a mother of six, two girls and four boys. She is very involved in developing village lending groups. She manufactures traditional soap from oil and soap-making acid. She benefits from a good amount of experience in this domain, having been in it for over ten years. Her new loan will allow her to purchase two cans of oil (15,000 XOF each) and five kilos of soap-making acid (1,000 XOF per kilo), as well as various products used to manufacture soap. Profits will allow her to make a difference in supporting her children with school fees and to pay for daily expenses.
