Florida 1 Group's story

Esther is in her late thirties and has got three children, all are enrolled to school. She is a widowed woman and for seven years now she has been involved with poultry activities. Esther grows pigs and chicken (layers and broiler) for selling. Since her husband died, Esther is responsible for taking care of her family needs. How school fees, food and medical expenses will be covered, is among of the questions made Esther to engage with these businesses. She wakes up earlier in the morning (06am) where she goes through her chicken-shed to looks for chicken food and water. Her pigs do not need close and every time checking. Esther’s activity end up on 06pm per working day and is able to make a very good return per month. This is her first loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. Esther will use this loan to buy chicks and laying chickens. She dreams that one day she will be able to buy a car and improve her businesses. She will share this loan with her loan group" FLORIDA 1" which consist of three members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
