A loan helped To purchase more broiler chicks, and food to increase production.

Angeline's story

Angeline is a 26-year-old single young woman living with two siblings who are dependent on her in the Guruve District of Zimbabwe. She started her poultry business in 2011 after noticing an increase in demand for Rhode Island chickens with lean meat. Angeline currently produces about 120 chickens every six weeks and sells them to the local customers. So far, she has been able to employ one person and hopes of hiring more in the future. She inspires young women in her community to be entrepreneurs so they can become financially independent. With this Kiva loan, Angeline will be able to grow her business by buying more broiler chicks, and food to increase production. With this investment in her business, her profits will increase and she will be able to care for her two dependents and keep them in school.
