Gotitas De Miel Group's story

The Gotitas de Miel community bank is starting their first loan cycle with Pro Mujer as part of the Villa Exaltación regional center. The group is made up of 10 members and led by an executive board where Salome is the president. The members of the group have a variety of businesses including a neighborhood store, clothing sales, knitting blankets, salchipapa sales, sock sales, school supply sales, a locksmith shop, and carpentry. The loan they are requesting will benefit all of their small businesses, including Salome's. She said this is the first time she has joined Pro Mujer. She joined at the invitation of a counselor from the institution who visited her home. She has a business selling socks. She started this business with a small amount of capital that she had and the guidance of a friend. She is requesting this loan to increase her capital and purchase socks at wholesale. She will purchase them at the markets in the city of El Alto and later sell them in her store. This type of work allows her to generate income to support her family, since she is single and has five children. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she responded that she likes the trainings, health services, and savings that the institution offers. One member is missing from the picture because she was at health services at a medical appointment.
