William's story

William is a male Ugandan aged 40 and a resident of Nyaruziba in Kagadi. He has four children aged 17, 12, 7 and 4, all of whom attend school. He is a single parent because he separated from his wife and he has the sole responsibility for educating and taking care of his children. The main business /source of income for William is brick laying, but he also rides a motorcycle/boda boda to supplement his business. He has approached Ugafode for a loan of UGX. 1,500,000 to hire laborers to make bricks for sale. He expects to buy new iron sheets after making profits from the sale of the bricks since he intends to build a modern house for his children. His plans for the future is to acquire a brick laying machine so as to produce bricks on a large scale. He faces challenges of bad weather during rainy seasons which affects the quality of his bricks.
