Fatou's Group's story

This group was created December 21, 2012 at the inauguration of the city's Banc Villageois. It is composed of members who live in the village and the surrounding areas. The members live in harmony and mutual solidarity. Their main businesses are fattening livestock and working as merchants. Shown standing at the far right of the photo with her had raised, the featured borrower, Mbayang, is 47 years old. She is married and the mother of eight children, four of whom are girls. With the loan she receives, she is purchasing two sheep at 20,000 Francs CFA each, and 10,000 Francs CFA in food and health products for fattening the sheep for six months. The rest of the money she uses to purchase vegetables that she resells at the weekly market to increase her working capital. She resells the fattened sheep for between 45,000 and 55,000 Francs CFA per head, and resells her vegetables at a profit of 10,000-15,000 Francs CFA. With the income she earns, Mbayang invests in the marital home by helping her husband in the management of the household expenses, and paying for her children's school fees, medical expenses and clothing.
