A loan helped To buy rice and beans to cook and sell to her customers.

God Is Able Group's story

Gladys is in her mid-40s. She is married and she has children. For the last three years, she has made her living by selling rice and beans, cooked together and called '"waakye." This food is very tasteful and it is enjoyed by everybody in the community. She opens her business from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, and is able to make a respectable profit each month. This will be her second loan request, which she will use to buy rice and beans to cook and sell to her customers. With the previous loan, which was paid back successfully, she invested the money into the same trade. She managed her business well and earned a good profit. She used the profit to take care of her household expenses and saved some with the microfinancer. She dreams that one day, she will be able to build a big house. She will share this loan with her group member, Olivia, who sells "banku" and stew, another local food. They will hold each other accountable for repaying the loan.
