Jose Manuel's story
José Manuel is 42 years old. He lives with his wife and children in the village of Lanchepata a rural area of the district of Santo Tomás located in the Province of Cutervo, Cajamarca Region in the north Andes of Peru. The people here work in agriculture, commerce and raising cattle. José Manuel raises and sells cattle. He has 6 cows on his property, three of them are pregnant. The cattle are raised on pastureland. His wife helps him in his work making homemade cheese and queso fresco (a soft mild unaged cheese) which they sell in the market of their district. They are a united family in the labor that they do together. José Manuel is requesting a loan of 3,000 PEN from Edpyme Alternativa to buy calves that will later augment his milk production and generate more income for his family.
