Maria Esperanza's story

María Esperanza is 44 years old. She is the mother of 7 children. Some of them are studying and others work, but the whole family maintains and cares for their coffee plants because the family economy depends on this business. She has a primary school level of education. She started 4th grade but due to a lack of economic resources, she couldn’t finish. She has a lot of experience in agriculture because her parents taught her from the time she was very young to work the land, which is planted with coffee. The variety of coffee is Lempira. Her clients are different buyers who come to the area and also the collection centers in town, where she sells her product directly. She is requesting a loan to buy inputs such as: manure, fertilizers, foliar fertilizers, and other things for the maintenance of her coffee plants. With this support, she will be able to protect her plants and she will be safer from insects, among other things. Her dream is to improve her cultivation techniques on the land that she farms with coffee so that she will be able to generate more income for the wellbeing of her family and for the future of her children, in whom she has much hope and faith. She also wants to improve her crop a little every day so that she can increase the varieties and quality of her harvests. She would also like to be one of the strongest coffee farmers and to work in the buying and selling of coffee.
