Fatou's Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to purchase cabbages, carrots, eggplant, and dried fish to resell.

Fatou's Group's story

This group was created on December 12, 2011 on the day the 'banc villageois' was inaugurated. The group is composed of women who are from the same district. Over the course of past loan cycles together, they found out how to develop solidarity and mutual support. They all attend the international market in the area to carry out their work in small-scale commerce. Ms. Fatou (sitting at the right with a hand raised) is the featured borrower of the group. She is 47 years old and married. Her business involves selling fresh vegetables at the district market where she has a table. She gets her supplies either from market gardeners most of the time or from retailers. With this new loan, she wants to purchase 5 sacks of cabbages, 5 sacks of carrots, 3 sacks of eggplant, and 5 baskets of dried fish to resell. Fatou uses her profits for the most part to cover day-to-day needs and her children's schooling costs.
