A loan helped to purchase farming supplies to use on her coffee crops.

Maria Macaria's story

María is a 29-year-old young woman who works in agriculture with a great deal of effort and enthusiasm. Alongside her husband, she sows, clears and fertilizes the land. From their marriage they have three children, the eldest of whom attends the third grade of the local school and the other two are the little ones. She learned to sow and grow coffee at a very young age, thanks to the knowledge that was passed on by her parents, who taught her everything they could and everything she needed to know. She and her husband own the plot of land where they work, and they acquired it through a great deal of sacrifice and hard work. It is located approximately 5 kilometers from their home and they get there by walking and occasionally by riding animals. María's goal is to grow a coffee nursery with some 20,000 plants so that she can sow them on her plot of land and strengthen her estate for her children's sake. As a mother, she dreams of seeing her children in better living conditions, with better opportunities that may be positive and beneficial to their lives. That's why she's currently requesting a loan in order to purchase farming supplies and get technical assistance which is needed for her coffee crops. She has to buy fertilizers, compost, liquid fertilizers, etc., so that her crop and her produce will be better and much more profitable.
