Gurgen's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to pay for workforce, fertilizer and apricot seeds.
Gurgen lives in Khanjyan village with his wife. Near the house where the couple lives, Gurtgen owns arable land where he cultivates wheat, tomatoes, eggplant, watermelon and grows 15 apricot trees. The harvest that he gathers is sold to local wholesalers. The income of this family comes only from this agricultural activity so it is very important for them. Gurgen has now applied for this loan to be able to purchase fertilizer, apricot seeds and also to pay for workforce for gathering harvest. The loan is very important for Gurgen and his wife as it would be very difficult for them to cover these costs with current financial conditions. As this is Gurgen's first loan, it has been approved within the framework of the new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF. The first-chance loan program provides loans to people who didn’t have access to credit products in the past because they have no credit history. Gurgen ensures that he will make payments on time and hopes for lenders' support.
