A loan helped to buy basic grains, milk, coagulant tablets, and other products.

Amor Y Paz Group's story

The solidarity group named “Amor Y Paz” (Love and Peace) consists of four members: Yorlenig Magdalena, María Jesús, Irma Lisseth, and Itza María. All of them are from a town in northern Chinandega. They all know one another because they are from the same area. They chose to participate in a solidarity loan because it would help them financially and allow them to invest in their different businesses.

María Jesús is the group coordinator and is in charge of submitting the loan payments. Her business involves selling curds and cream. She sells her products as a traveling vendor in the neighborhoods of Chinandega. María also owns a vending stall where she sells consumer products such as basic grains, soaps, snack foods, and other products. Her purchases are conducted at the municipal market. She has established and occasional customers. The purpose of her loan is to invest in her businesses. María will buy basic grains, milk, coagulant tablets, and other products so that she can meet the demands of her customers.
