A loan helped To launch a new business selling Lies (clams) and repair the house where she lives.

Savorn's story

Savorn (in the photo) lives in a village near the Mekong River about 20 kilometers from Phnom Penh City. She has four children: two sons and two daughters. Two of them attend school and the other two are still young. Her husband is a mason. Savorn is a construction worker. She wants to stop working as construction worker and launch a new business selling Lies. Hence, she decided to apply for a loan. She will also use the rest of the loan to repair the house where she lives because it is broken in some parts. About Lies: it is a Khmer word, it’s a kind of small freshwater clam.
