Thioro's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy sugar and fish.

Thioro's Group's story

This 23-women group belongs to the “banc villageois” (financing group) which was created on February 7, 2002. It gathers women who for the most part reside in the same village, have good relationships, and whose main business is retail. Anta, who is standing to the right in the picture, with her hand raised, is 37 years old. She is married and a mother of four, including two girls and two boys. With the loan, she will retail fish and sugar. With her loan, she will purchase one bag of sugar for 25,000 XOF; she retails it for 600 XOF per kilo. With the rest of the money, she will also purchase fish for 250 XOF each, to be retailed for 300 XOF, a business in which she is periodically active. With the profit she will save, reinvest in her business, and if possible start fattening animals.
