María Carmelina's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to buy chickens, guinea pigs and feed for the animals.
María Carmelina's story
Maria has been a member of the San Pablo loan group for five years. Over these years she has been able to get to know her group members better and they have been able to support each other. She lives in the Turi parish in Cuenca, which is known for being the lookout over the city. The people of Turi work in animal husbandry, farming and business. Maria is 58 years of age, married, and has six adult children from her marriage, all of whom are married and live independently. Her husband works as a builder and they live in their own home. Maria stays at home and works raising guinea pigs and chickens, as well as growing crops to harvest and sell. In her free time she provides a laundry service by washing clothes. The money from this loan will be used to buy chickens, guinea pigs and feed for the animals. Maria's goal is to have more animals.
