but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy silver, steel, and fine costume jewelry to sell.

Marcela's story

Marcela, 41, is a mother of two and the head of her household. She receives a pension and a grant, and her microenterprise allows her to provide more economic security for her family. She has been working in commerce for more than 10 years, and has requested a loan from Fundación Mujer before. She is conscientious in financial matters, and has credit with the suppliers of her merchandise. She maintains a loyal clientele, and her goal is to increase her assets and have more merchandise to fill her customers' orders. Marcela has more than 10 years of experience. She has suppliers and a credit history which has enabled her to forge her business. She wants to grow so she can continue supporting her family and have working capital to buy merchandise and offer her customers other products. In the last year Marcela has purchased fine costume jewelry, gold-plated jewelry, silver jewelry, and steel jewelry, which is in style in the central pacific zone of Costa Rica where she lives. She keeps a portfolio of regular clients and offers payment schedules, collecting payments every two weeks. She also has credit with her supplier and has maintained regular business in the central part of Puntarenas, where she is well known. She goes out to sell and collect payments in the afternoons after attending to her daughters. She uses a bicycle to get around the neighborhood and goes to the capital (San José) to buy her merchandise.
