José Antonio's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support
A loan helped to buy materials: tiles, wood, nails and tools, since the ceiling in this home is in poor condition.
José Antonio's story
José is a 43 year old man who is honest and hard-working. Because of many limitations in his childhood and adolescence, he was only able to complete third grade. Now, he is married, and his wife takes care of the domestic tasks and also helps with the agricultural work. They have three children. The younger two study, and the oldest works as a hired hand. José has worked as an insurance agent for 9 years, making $233.00 per month. This income is not sufficient to cover his basic home needs, so he also works in agriculture. He grows corn, beans, and vegetables (cabbage, tomatoes, and chilies). He learned these activities at a very young age, thanks to his father teaching him. José will use the loan to buy materials: tiles, wood, nails, and tools, since the ceiling of his home is in poor condition. In the rainy season, the consequences of the wind and rain rob his family of their tranquility. For this reason, he wants to take advantage of the dry season they are in to repair the ceiling so that his family will be able to live without being worried every time it starts to rain. In addition to having his house in good condition, José wants to dedicate himself to growing vegetables. He enjoys the work very much, as well as the business opportunity he sees in it. There is a great demand, and few producers dare to grow them.
